Default pain and nausea

I can't seem to shake this nausea thing, I thought after a few weeks, it would end, but some days I am so queasy. This morning I woke up with severe gas pains, the ones that double you over. I was wondering what else I can do to help me through this part, and, does the nausea eventually go away?

Thanks in advance....

First off, what are you eating? Please post a typical day's menu, as well as any "extras" you might occasionally add.

Those bars & shakes, especially candy with sugar alcohols, will do that. Are you eating any of those?

Actually, over the weekend, I tried one of the chocolate Endulge bars, and a low carb "cereal" Bar. I read how these sometimes stall people, so I haven't since. Typical day's Menu? Breakfast will usually be scrambled eggs, sometimes with ham or sausage, or maybe just some ham. Lunch varies, tuna fish with a little mayo, perhaps on a small bed of lettuce, sometimes I'll have a piece of steak or roast if it's leftover from the family, etc... I snack in between on some cheese, but am careful with that, or a few pork rinds. Dinner I will do a small salad with Bleu Cheese, and usually a meat. Last night I had a sweet sausage with a few pieces of onion and green pepper....

You might want to up your vegetable intake, depending on what you mean by "small salad." In Induction, you should have three cups of salad OR two cups of salad plus one cup of some other vegetable daily. I feel lots better if I have all my veggies.

Also, try using Fitday to check your caloric intake. Depending on the amounts, you may be eating too little.

I think more veggies, and more food ingeneral will alleviate the symptoms quite a lot! I wouldn't worry about limiting the salad and low-carb veggies as much. I know they say three cups total, but it's almost impossible to eat enough salad greens and low-carb veggies to go way over the limit, IMHO. The extra carbs and more importantly fiber will settle things down. The bars have NASTY effects on me..not stalling, but abdominal pain and cramping for hours on end from just eating ONE, depending on what brand.

hope this helps a bit.

Thanks to everyone....I wondered if the nausea was from not enough veggies, but I am so afraid of "Hidden Carbs" that I try to limit the things that I know have carbs in them! The pain and cramps may just be from those bars, I'll avoid them and see what happens.

Please don't be afraid of sallad and veggie carbs. There are such tiny amounts of them as long as you stick to those on the "allowed foods" list. Still, they're full of fiber and you need the roughage for your digestion. This is what Atkins said about fibers:

In fact, fiber actually slows the entry of glucose into the bloodstream. This, in turn, reduces the blood-sugar spikes that cause insulin production and encourage the body to produce and store body fat. And by slowing down food’s transit time in the digestive tract, fiber helps you feel full longer, resulting in fewer food cravings.

So, be a good girl. Eat your veggies!
