Default Does gain often happen just before a loss?

I seem to remember reading this somewhere last year (haven't been here in a while) and I'm really hoping it's true! Or maybe I'm just making it up to help myself feel better????

I fell off the LC Wagon a bit over the holidays and my weight snuck back up to 136 - after maintaining my 130-131 for MONTHS. So Monday, I decided to get back on the straight and narrow and back to my 130. So what happened? Now my weight is 138. Panic may set in soon.

I'm mid-cycle.

I think it depends on the person and the reason for the gain. If it was cheat realted, then it may take a while.

I almost always had a siight gain before aloss. Check out my progress chart in the picture gallery section.

It could be from sodium, eating something you probably shouldn't or just left over form holiday poor eating.

Hello-

I agee that it depends on the person. I gained 2 pounds before I lost 5. This is was in 2 days of each other. I think your body is adjusting and wasn't yet in ketosis when you weighed yourself and saw the gain. I think as long as you continue to get back on track and stay there, the results will follow. Just my advice but I'd try to weigh myself only once a week or once every two weeks if I were you, that way you won't be disappointed. Also check to see if you're getting your vegetables. That's important! Hope this makes you feel better.

You mention you are mid-cycle. I always find that I gain at least 2 pounds when I am ovulating. Don't know why but it always happens. Isn't it great being a woman! Men have it so easy!!

This often happens to me as well. I have no idea why and it's so frustrating. Hang in there and you'll be back to your desired weight in no time.
