Hi Flossie, Barbie here again....this one I am pretty sure on my answer!

I have read here on previous posts that ketosis is ketosis, regardless of the colour that is showing. Something else I read, and did indeed find myself, is that if someone is a little dehydated then the stick tends to go to the darker purple side. The water that we drink (or should be drinking) dilutes your urine...

Hope that helps....

Pretty soon, you may become tired of having your feeling of success depend on some stupid stix. I know I did. They really aren't very accurate and certainly don't reflect the whole ketone output because we lose ketones in the breath we exhale & through the intestines.

Barbie is right that ketosis is ketosis. If you get palest pink, you're burning them. Many people have lost well without ever getting even to dark pink.

You can tell you are in ketosis:
-when you have to remind yourself that you are hour past lunchtime & still not hungry.
-when you see your formerly favourite dessert and yawn and go do something else.
-when your formerly snug trousers are beginning to droop off you and you need a belt or else risk breaking the public nudity laws.

Seriously, the tape measure or the fit of your clothes gives a MUCH better indication of how you are doing. As fat goes, you will get smaller, even if water retention or lean muscle development mean the stupid scales don't move.
