Default zoloft or other SSRIs & weight gain/loss

Hi, I have a GF that has gained a few pounds while on Zoloft. She wanted me to ask if anyone is taking this or any other SSRIs and have been able to maintain their weight or gained weight and have been able to take it off w/low carb.
Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks,
Juli

YMMV....some lose some gain some stay the same.....I ,personally lose abt 7 lbs when I first start ( i have SAD so I started in Oct/Nov and ended in april) and would gain exactly 7 lbs when i stopped..I am no longer up north I left my SAD symptoms up north in the dark...LOL

I am in a position to know many on SSRI's...each drug affects people differently....consult your physician if there is more wt gain than you are comfortable with..often there is something you can take to mediate that...it is important to differentiate wt gain from the drugs affects and just plain not eating on program. I have had no trouble maintaining and continuing losing on SSRIs

I've heard people say both--some lose a few and some gain it.

I am still losing, very slowly but it just may be due to getting close to my ideal weight.
The loss of apetite I get on it helps a little and I find I don't eat nearly as muc.
I am also on Zoloft.

Default Zoloft

I have been on Zoloft for over a year now and have lost 30 pounds doing LC (from 142 to 112lbs. ) I gained weight on Paxil, but I think I was mentally feeling so much happier that I was "happy eating". There was a direct correlation between eating more/gaining more for me. After getting a grip on the eating by replacing my habits with LC, I had no problem seeing the pounds melt away. Also, I have maintained the weight loss now for over a year.

I am currently on lexapro and it hasn't made me gain any weight, but it also hasn't really helped me lose any either
