Unhappy No weight loss yet

Asking for help and inspiration -

My Gallbladder was removed 19 years ago - at age 40 and three childern, I have a very difficult time now loosing weight without deprovation. Some of my family have had great success with Atkins and they are low-carb fans.

I have been on Atkins Induction Phase now for 2 1/2 weeks without any weight loss. I feel good and energized. I am commited to sticking with Atkins and hope for long term for success.

Does anyone without their Gallbladder have a Slow Weight Loss Success Story to share for inspiration using Atkins?

Thank you

I had my gallbladder removed a few years ago, and yes, I am losing weight very slow. But, that's ok. Your gallbladder does aid in digestion, so maybe it does affect weight loss.

Hi everyone....I too had mine taken out. I lose about 1 lb a week. I have not lost any weight in years, so to me anything is acceptable. Better than not losing at all. Everyone is different. Just hang in there and things will change for you. Nothing ever stays the same.

Hello All,

Shannonp- after 4 weeks of Induction I have lost only 1lb. but have also lost 3.5" inches!

I am still not sure? The Gallbladder hold excess bile, and when bile (a digestive fluid) is required the gallbladder releases it. During a very fatty meal extra bile may be required and released.

If someone doesn't have their Gallbladder, then it is generally suggested that each person learns their own personal tolerance level for fat intake and lives within that zone.

So, I really don't know if my metabolism is slowed down because it is working on disolving the fat content I consume and the fat I am burning through the process of lipolysis? If I don't have extra bile released (from the gallbladder) to digest and breakdown the fats, perhaps the whole weightloss process is slower.

Perhaps, It is a Medical Question?

I truely hope you have successfull weightloss!
