Default Holiday Parties and mid day crash

Success today. We had a halloween party today at work and I avoided all high carb foods....so basically everything but home made salsa, califlower, broccili, jimmy john half italian unwich. Also had homemade salad.

Question is I had like 4 glasses of diet rite today and I am like crashing. LOL falling asleep at this computer. Is that normal for higher than average mealtime carb intake (the soda I would guess.)

If you aren't used to having soda, it's quite possible it's like a sugar crash from all the sweetener in the diet drinks. I wouldn't worry about it, and just ride it out. It could be from that, or it could be something else entirely.

Maybe you are partly emotionally tired from having to fight the desire for party foods. Good for you for planning ahead and making it through!

I had a similar situation last night. DH's birthday is tomorrow and all the people at his job (he works in a small place) bring in food for each other's birthdays for a little party. They celebrated DH's yesterday and he came home with all of the leftovers, including, among other things, the BEST homemade meatballs from an Italian woman he works with AND three-quarters of a three-layer carrot cake with cream cheese icing covered in shredded coconut! When I got home from work, all of this stuff was on my kitchen table and he and my boys were tearing through everything. I have to admit, I WAS a bit jealous...and the carrot cake kept calling me. But I was good and just prepared my steak, etc. for dinner and that was that. It really wasn't THAT bad, but I would have to say it was the first time I felt a little deprived since I started on 8/2/10. THEN came the reward...I only weigh myself on Tuesdays and Fridays and I was happy to see this morning that I was another 1.5 lbs down! So I passed the test with flying colors and feel SO good about myself today!

Could be a crash from all the caffeine in the soda.
