Question two questions

It's my birthday, it's my birthday, it's my birthday

I am going to eat out tonight at a restaurant (of my choice) and want to know how to eat out while LCing it? I don't want to blow this WOE and I've never gone to a restaurant since beginning LC.

Any suggestions on how to handle this?

Also, I tried Atkin's flour substitue years ago. Can't remember the name of it. It was like a powdery substance in a can. I thought it was really gross. (Sorry, my opinion.)

Is there any LC replacement for bread out there or a flour replacement that isn't so yucky? Looking for some more options on feeding the family.

Thanks, friends!

Couldn't do this without you!

Jeannie

Cool

Happy Birthday Jeannie

I don't know what your favorite foods are, but a trip to a fantastic steakhouse fits into our eating plan wonderfully. You can get a steak cooked just the way you love it and a huge salad. That's what I did on my birthday, except it wasn't a steakhouse but a buffet that had steak on it (Ryan's). Everyone got exactly what they wanted and we all had a nice dinner.

Talking Happy Birthday

Jeannie,
When I was in our local natural food store I noticed a lot of
flour substitutes, in fact it had a whole section of LC items for
baking etc... Its nice because you don't have to order and wait
for arrival.

At the restaurant, order some variety of steak, chicken or fish (I love salmon) with veggies and a salad. If rice or a potato comes with, just ask if you can have double veggies. If you go Mexican, fajitas are yummy.

My grocery store carries a flax seed and soy bread that has 13 g carbs, 7 fiber and 5 protein per slice. I eat one slice a day. If you can tolerate a slightly higher carb count, you can find a whole grain, bran added kind of bread for around 10-12 g ECC per slice. You can also order LC bagels and such online, though I haven't tried them myself.

Cheers, and Happy Birthday!!

Default very merry birthday

I celebrate that you were born and I hope your loved ones do, too. Sounds like they do: someone is taking you to dinner.

You'll be fine. One caution: lots of salad dressings have sugar altho in fine restaurants that prepare most dressings fresh throughout each day, you should be fine. Ask.

A very merry best wishes on your special day.
