Default female stuff

I am on day 5 of my induction phase and currently on my menstral cycle.

Over the past several days I have been experiencing extreme pain in my legs that has eased up quite a bit and fatigue. I had thought it was due to my new way of eating or otherwise known as the "atkins flu".

Throughout the day yesterday, I expelled several blood clots and last evening I expelled a large clot that I had to actually use my muscles and bear down to expel.

It scared the dickens out of me! My first thought was the reduction of carbs that I have been doing for the past 5 days and I went ahead and ate 29 carbs. Of course it calmed me down... and I may have been subconsciously looking for an excuse to get my fix... but I was wondering if this is a normal phase during the induction phase or if I might actually need medical advice in regards to my female organs.

My monthlys come when they are suppose to and have been heavy and lasted for a full week for approx 7 years now. Doctor said that was normal due to "getting older" (almost 40).

Any advice or input would be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
T
