Default Have not lost much weight during induction!

Hi,

I wondered if anyone else has experienced this problem: I have been on induction for 2 1/2 weeks, but have only lost 2 pounds. I strictly followed the induction menu and ate only what I was allowed. If I go to the next phase, will I start to drop weight then? From what I have read on this site, it seems like most people drop quite a few pounds during induction.

Thanks for the help.

I went to atkins.com and just followed the induction list of acceptable foods. As much as you want all meat, eggs, 4 oz. of cheese a day and 3 cups of limited vegetables (they are listed). I am not hungry at all, as far as wanting a lot of snacks. I am also an avid coffee drinker and even quit cold turkey the first day! Still no large weight loss.

Make sure you take a vitamin supplement as they definitely play a role in the speed of the fat-burning process! Could make a noticeable difference in the long run!

You really need to read the book too. There are lots of good recipes here also. Every one loses different, some fast and some slow. Hang in there and keep working it and it will work for you.

Where are you in central Illinois? I live near Champagin.

You could be losing inches even if you have only lost 2lbs. The scale is nice but don't get to hung up on it. When your clothes are starting to get loose then you know your on your way.
The scale didn't move this week, not one pound but I lost 1/2 inch off my hips, 1/2 of my thighs, 1/2 inch off my abdomen and put on 1/2 inch on my calfs which is ok becuase it's muscle from walking every day.
Don't get discouraged, it will happen.

you also don't have a lot to lose. i think i've heard people generally lose 10% of the total they are trying to lose during induction. if i'm doing my math right that would be just shy of 3lbs for you.

i have heard cheese can stall people, so you may consider that. also i think too little or too many calories can sometimes make a difference in how well someone loses. some people need certain supplements. exercise is huge, imo a person will probably need to exercise to see results as well.

I would second this. According Atkins the average weight loss is 10% of the excess weight during induction. Average means there are many people who lose LESS ....
Saty on course, you will see result.

my peez..

i'm new here as well and i just finished my 3rd week of lc and for the first two weeks i only lost a total of 4 lbs, but now it seems to be going faster. I'm now at a total of 7lbs lost, so don't get discouraged. Plus it seems like its getting easier.
