Does anyone here take Metforman?

My doc put me on it last week. She says that they are finding that it helps regulate insulin resulting in weight loss. I am also on Atkins. Does anyone have any info for me? I basically want to know if it has effected weight loss good or bad.

I've seen it mentioned quite a bit.

I have been taking it since Sept. of 1999. I have NOT noticed any physical side effects; it certainly has not slowed my weight loss.
