Default Trying to gain weight?

My husband is 6 foot 4 inches tall, and weighs 150 pounds. Obviously, he has a high metabolism. SInce I've started Atkins, and I'm avoiding carbs to lose weight, he's convinced himself that eating carbs will cause him to gain weight. I'm not so sure though. He went to a nutritionist once, and she put him on the diabetic exchanges diet, but at 7500 calories a day. He did this for two months and gained zero weight. The diabetic exchanges diet is almost all carbs.

So according to the low carb science, will eating enough carbs eventually cause my husband to gain weight, or is he barking up the wrong tree?

IMHO, if he wants to gain, the combo is carbs and fat. However, to make it a healthier gain, he should be getting about a gram of protein per lb of body weight. Some weight training wouldn't hurt either to help ensure he adds muscle and not fat.

Anybody else with me on this?

Cheers,

Friday

Yep, resistance training and extra food, overall, will help. I wouldn't recommend any junk food, though. Better to be thin and healthy than bigger and diabetic.
