Hi all,
Well, my move has finally been complete and I am officially now a Texas girl (y'all
). I wrote a while back when I was about to move that I was worried about staying LC because my parents were going to be with me helping me move and they are not very supportive of my LC lifestyle (mainly the issue of eating "all that fat" - I've tried to explain it to them and they've read Atkins but it was in one ear and out the other...). So just wanted to report in.
I surprised myself by being very firm with myself on keeping as LC as possible. I haven't been that way with visits from my parents and stressful situations in the past and that's what's been keeping me from losing/feeling great steadily and kept me in yo-yo dieting mode (lose great before the visit/stress, then gain what I lost back, etc.) This time I refused to let my parents pull me into their eating habits (which are pretty bad - my mom is the crash-diet kind and also reaches for the sweets when she's stressed and my dad just eats what he wants and suffers from high blood pressure and obesity because of it) and I stuck to my lc eating. I ate out a lot more than I usually do with the move and such and I found it pretty easy to stay on plan (lots of chicken ceasar salads
) and I'm trying to curve my sweet tooth (although I have some LC chocolate and ice cream in the freezer, both unopened and hopefully will stay that way unless I get a huge craving). Strangely, in Texas I'm finding a lot more LC products on hand at the supermarket than I did in California but I'm trying not to rely on those.
I can't say for sure how much I've lost over the past few months because I haven't located my scale yet
but I can say I've gone from a size 14 to a size 10-12 and I feel awsome!
Anyway, wanted to check in.
Tam
