My menu was way over on calories and a bit low on fiber. It was great on carbs and a bit high on protein. Definitely too much salt though - I'm retaining water - my rings won't budge and my weight is up 3.5 lbs! Perhaps this will help reduce both my sodium content and extra water

Started watching my calorie per pound intake several weeks ago to try to drop 5 lbs or so by about March 15 - began at 177lbs. Weight today is at 175. Calories per pound 2314 / 175 = 13.22 (aiming for around 8 to 9.5).

Total calories: 2314
Fat: 118 gms 1060 cal 64%
Sat: 71 gms 636 cal 28%
Poly: 16 gms 140 cal 6%
Mono: 62 gms 558 cal 25%
Carbs: 40 gms 122 cal 5% ECC: 30 gms
Fiber: 10 gms 0 cal 0%
Protein: 172 gms 688 cal 30%

Breakfast:
4 egg-beater omelet with 2 ozs lean ham and 1 oz cheddar
Breakfast drink - 8 ozs water, 1 envelope sf gelatine, 1 scoop sf orange citrucel
30 ozs coffee (regular, brewed)

Snack: .25 cup mixed muts

Lunch:
6 chicken livers - lightly floured and fried in butter
1 cup LC mixed veggies - steamed - lightly buttered

Dinner:
Huge Taco Salad - no tortilla bowl
3 cup lettuce, .5 cup sour cream, .33 cup slasa (red, uncooked), 5 ozs cobly jack cheese, 9 oz ground beef seasoned for tacos

About 100 ozs water & 30 ozs coffee

i am beginning to think that the calories really matter. i am up a couple of lbs this week and when my calories dropped so did a pound. i am still up to 203 though. will start minding those calories a little more closely. lets see yesterday was 1685/204=8.3=1lb loss. wednesday was 2549/203=12.6=1lb gain. of course, all this number
mumbo jumbo may be nothing if i am just having some normal fluctuations?!?!?!

have a gread friday!!!! TGIF!!!

Good morning I have no appetite this morning and still have not eaten I am going to do strict induction with little veggies for a few days so I can get back in ketosis fast before my appetite picks up. Should be easy if this keeps up.

I wanted to share this with all you before it slips my mind. We ate at a resturant while we were gone that had a low carb menu. Next to each entree it listed the net carb content of the entree and also how many calories each entree had. What an eye opener! The average low carb entree had between 1700-2900 calories! Most were over 2000 and the majority were close to 3000. WOW! I will certainly think twice about what I order out from now on.

Hi everyone!
Thanks for the offers of help in trying to get this thing "kick started"! I have posted my foods from yesterday in my journal anyone who would like to read and comment...you are more than welcome! Any tips or observations would be much appreciated. I am sorry but Fitday gives me FITS!!! I use an offline program of my own to keep track of my amts and nutrients thoughout the day.
As far as medications: I take Paxil and Remeron as well as Synthroid (still juggling dosages on the Synthroid). I take a multivitamin and extra calcium.
Exercise is a 1 hour water aerobics class 2 times a week and I try to walk about 1/2 mi. a day on the other days.
Thanks in advance for any help! I am really at my wits end!!!!!!
KAT
