Default Good LC bread?

I am two weeks into my low-carb diet and am actually finding it rather easy to hang on but I have a few questions about low-carb bread.

I bought some Atkins quick bake mix and followed the instructions on how to make bread out of it and it was the most god awful thing that I have ever had the misfortune of coming across. It was almost flat and tasted like extremly nasty cornbread and fell apart like crumbs.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a good breadmix (bread machine or oven, it doesnt matter) that actually rises and ends up atleast the size of normal bread and doesnt crumble?

Any ideas would be very welcome.

David

Hi David,

I think the already baked Atkins bread is much better. Another brand that is very good is Nutrawize, they also have yummy bagels.

I usually get it Nutrawize from healthsourcepharmacy.com

Default Great Fresh Bread

i don't like the bread mixes very much. one cause i don't like to bake very much and two they don't taste very well. i like the nutrawize breads and bagels as well. but i really like fresh bread, cause i don't always like to have a sandwhich on toast. there's janet's bread which i think is real good or diacarb rolls, are just like regular hamburger rolls. and there fresh no need to toast.

i get mine at www.leanonmelowcarbcenter.com

good luck to all low carbers

I strongly reccomend the recipe for "magic rolls" from The Low Carb Comfort Food Cookbook. No bread machine required and far better than any of the other low carb breads I have tried.
