Default new, on Atkins

hi all. I just found this site today, looking for places to buy low-carb products by my house (south burnaby). got some great ideas for plaves to shop, which is great!!

I've been on the Atkins plan for 1 week now, finding snacks is the hardest part I've found so far. I hope to lose about 50 pounds from when I started. diabetes runs in my family, so I really have to be careful about my weight.

For those on atkins, what are some good snack ideas during the induction phase? I've been eating crab-meat and plain fresh shrimp when i've already eaten my allotment of veggies for the day. Also, what are some low-carb drink options? I've been drinking herbal tea with no sugar/caffiene, and water, but well, it gets boring!

Any ideas would be muchly appreciated!! Thanks
Sarah

Hi, Mookins! Some of the best snacks on Induction can involve cheese, boiled eggs, meat wraps (using lettuce leaves). Crab meat and fresh shrimp sound wonderful! Are you making sure you eat them with butter or mayo? How about a crab salad for a snack (Crab, olives, celery, mayo)? DH likes to have chicken hindquarters to snack on or for breakfast sometimes.

Hello Sarah! Glad you found us!

I so wish I could afford fresh crab meat around here LOL! The artificial stuff has sugar in it so I've been staying away from it.

Pork rinds dipped in sour cream or deli meat roll ups with cream cheese and a pickle were a couple of my favorite snacks during induction.
