Default Chromium help please.

Is there a difference between Chromium GTF and chromium picolinate?
How much do you take and do you take it with food or without?
Thanks!

I think the GTF is mainly used to stabilize your blood sugar. Chromium Picolinate is used to help with fat metabolism, primarily. I take my Chrom. Picolinate with food now, but many people take it in between meals. I used to, but it made no difference in my weight loss. It can absorb better on an empty stomach.

The picolate was suposed to have some health concerns dealing with DNA. CAD says to stay far away from it and have the GTF (glucose tolerence factor) chromium. The GTF is harder to find I've noticed. If you check the CAD book and the suppliment forum on here you can get alot more information on it.

The Chromium GTF (glucose tolerance factor) helps regulate the changes in blood sugar levels and hence control cravings.

If I don't take my chromium, I eat overnight and get cravings more often.

Picolinate used to be banned in Canada (it comes in on the gray market). I seem to remember that in the picolinate form, there was some conern about liver damage as the chromium would tend to accumulate in the liver with this formulation.

PS I bought a bottle of GTF at Costco last week - 300 for $2.98. Not a lot of money compared to my Herbalife multis.

Tom.
