Default Im so happy to have found this site!

I was just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I also was diagnosed at the University of Washington to have fibromy. 2 years ago. I'm 44, married, have 4 children, 2 grown, 2 in elementary school. It seems to me that preservatives, additives, and sugars are poisen to me. Does any one know of a specialist who really can test for these things? I spend so much time and money searching for answers, then I give up for months at a time and when I can't take it any longer I begin my search again. The diabetes I'm sure hasn't helped, so when I get that under control some of my energy may return. I have gained 60 pounds in a very short amount of time and get very depressed and don't want to leave my house. It's good to find this site.

Welcome to the site! It is a great source of information and encouragement. I too have FMS (20 yrs) and this way of eating has changed how I feel. I feel great, better than I have in years.
With fibro we gain weight as we cant be as active as we used to be the pain gets the better of us.

I too search for help then give up - takes so much energy that I dont have lol only to go looksy again in a few months time.

I am a relative newcomer here too and I was given this great site by someone here (my apologies fibro fog means I dont remember names) it has great info on FMS and a good support board where you will get lots of answers to your questions.

Good luck, please keep in touch
