Default still hungry

I have been on induction for 10 days. My clothes are a little looser so I know I have lost a few pounds. But that is probably mostly water. I am concerned that I am eating too many calories. I just ate a 3 egg omlette with 1oz cheddar, 1 cup spinach, 1-2 mushrooms, onions, green pepper and 2 tbsp sour cream. It was delicious, but not completely satisfying. Now I just finished two celery sticks with about a tbsp each of cream cheese. I also ate two slices of turkey bologna (0carbs) and 1 slice of cheese. I've had about 20oz of water so far. This just seems like way too much food to sustain a weight loss. What do you think? I have not received the appetite reduction that others have. The binging and cravings are reduced but I still do miss my carbs and sweets. So I think I make up for it be eating more volume. Since I only have 15 lbs to loose, I don't know if I can get away with this.

well, i had much more to lose than you, so i didn't really give the amount of food i ate in the beginning much thought. i would say to eat something when you're hungry, though. it is mind boggling to me that we can eat so much and so much fat--and still lose weight.

Well, you are getting away with it aren't you. You must stop thinking calories and just count the carbs. If you stay on induction foods, stay under 20g of carbs a day and eat till you're satisfied not stuffed you should lose weight.

In my own experience the appetite reduction comes about through eating protein. I don't see much meat in your partial menu you posted. Also note cream cheese is not allowed in induction and don't go to heavy on the sour cream - only 3 tablespoons a day of any cream.

Worry about the carbs and what food you are eating not the calories. If you find yourself hungry nibble on some more cheddar (but keep it to under 4oz a day).

I eat tons and still manage to lose weight. It's when I eat the wrong things the weight loss stops.

I'd stick some meat in that omlette, maybe some diced ham or sausage, and cut out the sour cream or some of the veggies. That might make it more satisfying without increasing the carbs or calories.

But mainly concentrate on getting through Induction with only the allowed foods, then worry about portions and snacking later as you get more used to low-carb.

totally normal. im on day 15 and still on induction and i feel like i can never really get enough to eat. what really helps me is the water intake. when i have a sugar craving, or when i'm not completely full after i eat, i just drink more water and it passes.

although it sounds like such a cliche, drink more water. it TOTALLY helps. it was hard at first, but now, i'm constantly drinking and feel really good that i haven't caved...pat yourself on the back when resisting temptation...it's just another battle gone...

hope this helps...good luck and welcome!

blue skies,

Kimmy

I agree about adding more protein... a slice of pot roast or some sugar-free buffalo wings - you know whatever you like.

And, according to Atkins Center (and I believe DANDR although I am too lazy to look it up) cream cheese is acceptable on Induction.

Acceptable Food List
