Question :daizy: reduced appetite

Starting week two of induction and wondering is it normal to experience less of an appetite then I did last week? I don't know if I am eating less because I am getting bored with limited foods or if my appetite is actually decreasing. Anybody have any ideas??? Thanks

It's one of the side effects of being in ketosis. Wonderful, isn't it?

Hi Geel,

Yes, I found the same thing once the major carbs were out of my diet. Are you recording at Fitday? I was surprised to learn that my daily calories were less than 1000. Not good, because you can put your body into starvation mode and it's much harder to lose weight.

Although we don't necessarily count calories, in general you should be eating 10 to 12 times your current weight.
This is not a hard and fast rule, but the idea is to free your mind of all the low fat, low cal brainwashing. Fitday will tell you exactly how many calories your eating, as well as your fat/protein/carb ratios. (should be about 70%/25%/5%)

If you haven't already, take a look at "Hot Links".

There are several threads there about "eating fat" that you might find interesting.

Good Luck!

It's not only your appetite that decreases a bit, but the cravings for crap will also subside!!

Then when you do get really hungry for something, you can eat satisfying foods without worry....

There has been no other answer for me...and I'm a lifetime "dieter"....this is SO worth figuring out and hanging tough! Now it's a way of life, and is effortless.

You're doing great!
