Default Nutra Sweet?

I brought a box of Nutrasweet today to use as I would normally sugar. Says 0.5 carbs and 0.02 sugars in 1 tsp. The Ingrediants say per gram: Maltodextrin 970mg, sweetener (aspartame, 951) 3.0% is this a no no or a yes to use?

Hi there,

Dr Atkins advised against the use of aspartame. In DANDR, he says that its safety has not been proven. In the Atkins website, they mention that they have found some people stall on aspartame, too.

Splenda is the approved sweetener. I prefer it anyway because it tastes better.

If you are only going to use it occasionally, I'd say go ahead. But for daily use, I'd buy some Splenda.

Hi there, thanx for the reply
I have looked for splenda in the local supermarket but they don't stock it so I have been using sugromax tablets which seem fine but they don't have the powder form. I was unsure of equal so choose nutra sweet only seeming I had heard of it. I think I will take your advice and stay clear of it and shop around for this spelnder.
Thanks again

1800 811 410 is the australian number for splenda, give them a buzz and they'll tell you where to find it in your area.
