Default Today I quit caffiene

I have several diet cokes a day, and I also drink iced tea all day. Time to get that monkey of my back.

I haven't lost any wieght in a month and I wonder if all the diet cokes are stalling me, and I don't think I can quit them unless I quit caffiene, because I am so addicted.

Man I am so tired this morning, I haven't even gotten dressed yet and I am just ready to fall asleep in my desk chair.

try caffiene free diet. are you taking a multivit? i have never been one to crave caffiene. the best thing to drink soda wise is diet rite if you can get it where you live. it is delish.

i guess if you really want to stop the caffiene you will have to let your body adjust.

i stalled too when i was drinking reg. diet coke. i stall when i drink a lotof the caffiene free diet also. if you can try diet rite. it comes in different flavors too.

I am drinking a diet rite white grape soda right now. That's kind of what got me on the idea, I bought some and noticed I don't methodicaly drink one right after the other like with diet coke. Kind of reminded me how addicted I am to coke.

Yes I do take a multi, just popped it now as a matter of fact.

I am having trouble believing I will ever have energy again, but I will just have faith and stick to it.

I never thought I could give up Caffeine. I have Caffeine Free about twice a week and have a Crystal Light (bottle) each day. Also drink galloon of water. It has been six weeks and only had two caffeinated beverages, you can do it. You will find that the soda period will taste very syrupy and sugary after a while.

Good luck.

just hang in there and your energy will come back. it takes a while for your body to adjust to using fat for energy.

Giving up caffine made quitting smoking look like a breeze. Going cold turkey is tough, but yes, from what I have read, the sodas can cause some people to stall.
Still, getting the caffine out of my system was one of the best things I did for myself. After a couple days, the headache went away and my energy came back, 10X! I no longer found myself popping Tylenol every afternoon as I had been for a LONG time (prob from caffine). In all honesty, I only take pain meds now around TOM

The second and third days were the worst. If you find yourself at the breaking point try mixing 1/2 regular w/ 1/2 caffine free. Then slowly wean yourself to 1/4, 1/8 etc...until you no longer need the soda at all.

I have the rare diet soda now & again & have the pleasure of getting a head rush from the caffine!

Good luck! You CAN get the caffine monkey off you back!

I am doing it cold turkey. I did OK yesterday but in the evening I had the worst headache of my life. It was brutal.

I am letting myself drink lots of diet caffiene free sodas because it makes me feel like I am having a caffeinated coke.

I am actually finding this easier (from a 24hrs in the hole perspective) than quitting smoking, but you say day two and three are the worst, so we will see.

Yea...thinking back, I had a hard time the first week after quitting the butts, but the headache from letting go of the caffiene...wow, something you never quite forget. I have been caffiene free now for a year & smoke free 13 months. I still crave an occassional butt...I have NO interest in ever having to wean myself from caffiene again!

There is no real reason for quitting cafeine; only suppositions. I drink 5 black coffees a day.
