We were down for 3:30 hours today. Things apear normal right now, but I'm considering a move to another server ASAP to get better responsiveness on a new server/company. The problem just needed a few minutes if someone just responded to their pager!

Yep, it's really depressing when this happen. In the heat of the moment, I jumped the gun and started the new move process to another server. Details to follow soon

Heat of TODAY's moment ... I was starting to circle the shutdowns on my calendar -- Fridays and Mondays, mid-day eastern time ... like a ritual. Plus other whimsical moments too ... but these bi-weekly events were serious, 3/4 hr to 2 or3 hrs or more each time.

I'll take reliability and consistent service over fewer seconds to open a page any day ...

By the way, who was holding the gun??

LOL, me. Each time we change servers it takes lots of steps, and several hours on the edge to insure "transperancy". Install files and scripts to new server, change settings to match what worked in old server, then redirect the URL to point to new server (takes a few days to propagate changes over the net). Them change the old server to point to new server until URL is fully back over the net. And of course, fix anything that goes wrong in between. Prevent baldness from pulling hair and just focus on biting nails.... This sounds fun, I might just start right now

AWWW, poor you!!!

I remember the headaches moving over to THIS server. It definitely took many steps and stages. But, to your credit, I recall that it went very smoothly.

fingernails are all protein, no carb --- depending on if they're clean or not. Toenails are another story ... watch out for the toe-jam and sock lint.
