Unhappy Help!

Hi All!

I have been browsing this forum for awhile and it really is great, but since I am seriosuly gettiing into my diet I wanted to introduce myself and possibly ask for some help. I am 20 years old pre-med and I have really low self esteem. My sister is super pretty and skinny, so most of the guys I tend to have crushes on like her! I was inititally 253 and am currently at 235. I just need some support cause I am so overwelmed with how much I have to lose. Any words of advice?

Best Wishes,
Maleeha

The best advice I can give you is to deal with this now. I lost all my weight when I was your age, from 215 to 135 and then I regained it. 20 years later, I'm at 215 (and that's a good place today).

You have your whole life ahead of you, don't waste it worrying about your weight like I did. Fix this now while you have the chance.

And that pretty sister (I have one too, same thing exactly) well, just keep telling yourself that one day, the boy she likes, will have a crush on you because you'll be so hot!! You can do it!

Hi sweetie pie! If you keep going o nthe plan you'll soon start to see the difference in your shape - just click on my gallery and have a look at what a difference 20lb loss made to my face! Believe me, I know just how you feel, I have a cousin who is stick thin and blonde and she gets ALL the attention when we go out, so much so that I refused to go out with her anymore making all kinds of excuses, but what keeps me going is that want to look like that and I want the attention she gets, so keep up with the way of life because you WILL get there in the end - I have over 100lb to lose but if I look at it like that I would just give up - make sure you break it down into smaller portions, I'm looking to the next 20lb now and it doesn't seem so bad!
good luck!

i have one of those sisters too. actually, i have 2 of them. in my case, once the guys get to know them, they flee- because they're not as beautiful as me on the inside i have to 2nd what jade said- think of it in small steps vs the overwhelming thought of 100+ pounds to lose. good luck!

Maleeha, I identify with you -- I always felt like the younger, uglier, fat sister.

I started off thinking it would be about a year to shed what I wanted to shed. I quickly realized that this isn't a diet. It's a committment to a different way of eating so the year kind of became irrelevant.

Also, it's not an all or nothing war. As you continue to shed pounds, there are rewards along the way, just like finding a flower growing where you least expect it. Cherish those little gems -- you will find that the goals come and you set new ones as the weight disappears.
