Default Everyone's an expert

Why has everybody suddenly become an expert on nutrition?

When I was scoffing "diet food" (reduced fat crisps, low cal choccy bars etc) nobody said a word. Now all of sudden they see me tucking into celery sticks with peanut butter, or tasy salads with olive oil dressing and mayonnaise all I hear is "are you supposed to be eating that?", "aren't you on a diet" blah blah blah.

How we have all been brainwashed!

Default I know what you mean...

My mother-in-law (to-be) is an avid 'slim-fast' woman, and it has done wonders for her, but when I told her I was on a diet, she was shocked I would not be joining her in her 'health food' snacking.
I do have one question for you though, is peanut butter ok? I know celery is big on fiber, but what about the sugar in PB?

Thanks-
Fooz_u

Default Loves her peanut butter!

Peanut butter, especially the natural kind is one of my favorite treats!

Anyway, I just thought I'd chime in and let you know that while I don't get comments I do get looks........though the women in my office have been incredibly supportive and have wanted to learn about what I'm doing. I figure it's really nobody's business but my own.......and I could really care less what other people think about me

Have a great day all!!!

Default PB

The PB you can have is the natural kind without any additives or sugar. I actually found one I like - it's the Kroger house brand.

There's a great thread in the General LC support area that you might enjoy. It's titled

"you know you're a LC er when..."

Happy snacking!

Default PB w/o jelly

Thanks for the advice on the 'natural' peanut butter. I will have too look in my health food store. Now... I want to ask about jelly... but remember I am spending all my money on steak... so eggs are my new budget food.

Thanks for the great posts.

Just and idea... I get my peanut butter at the grocery store. They have one of those do-it-yourself grinders. This way I know that my peanut butter is made purely from peanuts. If I want to add anything later, I can (sometimes it's a little thick and can be thinned with butter, yum!).
