Default Looking for support through Lent

I was wondering if there is anyone who is fasting durning Lent.
I would love to hear from you and share the experience of this Holy Season. I would also like to compare what type of menu you use durning Fridays of Lent.
Looking forward to hear from everyone soon.
God bless,
Donna

Cool

Hi donnaj,
I have not been fasting during Lent because I take about 9 different medications. For my Fridays, I just have been eating my seafood and vegetarian stuff.

For breakfast: a veggie omlet
Lunch: tuna and salad
Dinner: salmon/perch/walleye/shrimp/.......

And, I've been telling everybody I have given up CARBS for Lent!!!

Smile hello

I love it. I started to say the same thing but I decided to give up desserts. The desserts like cakes, muffins(low carbs) and cheesecakes. I love sweets so I thought that was right. For this Friday, I had beef broth for breakfast and chicken broth for lunch and summer I had a salad made with cheese, cherry tomatoes , lettuce with home made dressing. I will probally have some type of cream soup before I go to bed. I try to break my dinner up so that I would get sick. I have diabetes and I have to eat when I get hungry to keep my sugar level. I am going to church tomorrow to pray and confession. I will pray that I will keep this Lent holy. This is my first real true Lent. I have been Catholic for thirteen years and I am really trying to find my spirtuality this year.

Thanks for emailing. It really help to have someone go thourgh this with me.

May this Lent bring you closer to our Lord.
Donna
