I was in a remote northern BC town called Smithers this weekend. We went into a restaurant and low and behold, when we looked at the menu it had an "Atkin's Burger" listed. It was two hamburger patties covered by an egg and cheese with a yummy spinach salad.

I guess us big city folk can learn a few things from our country cousins. I've never seen anything like that listed on a menu in Vancouver.

We asked the waitress to thank whoever it was that put that on the menu.

Totally cool!! A friend of mine was telling me that a chain of fast food burger joints in California has a low carb special. She said it isn't on the menu, but if you ask for it by a certain name - kinda like a code name or secret handshake type of thing - they will give you your burger wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun.
