Default Confused about calories- just gave them up recently!

I just recently gave up the calorie counting which has been very hard, yet simpler too. I see other threads about people doing the calories. My sister does carbs only and is losing great. I had slow start myself, but since I have been doing carbs only I have started to lose real good. I have counted calories for centuries. This seems so new to me not to know how many calories I am consuming. Doing the low carbing should you even worry about the calories at all?

Hi there,

For most people, carbs are the only things that need to be counted.

The only time I mention calories is if someone is having difficulty losing, and then it is to make sure they are getting enough calories. It can be very easy to undereat on this way of life, especially as many of us have years of calorie counting under our belts.

So yes, calories are important. We need to make sure we are getting plenty of them.

You are doing well - so carry on as you are, and may you have much success!

Cheers.

Rosebud

I count calories because I found I was eating to much and going thru weeks of no weight loss. Now that I pay closer attention I am doing much better. So unfortunatly I am one of the unlucky ones who has to watch both carbs and calories.
