Question 4th day on Induction

This is my 4th day on Induction. After reading this forum yesterday, I entered what I ate on Fitday.com. I was surprised to see that I had only eaten 1350 calories. Is this normal. I ate 19 carbs. I did not feel well yesterday but could not have eaten another bite of protein. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jocallag and welcome to the forum. It would help us to know just what you ate in order to offer suggestions, but in general it is best to get those calories up with fats and not with more protein (assuming you're eating sufficient protein that is)

Things like olive oil, butter, mayonnaise, sardines, eating the skin on your chicken are good ways to up those calories. Fats are what taste good following this WOE; they also keep us full and satiate us. Adding a tablespoon of olive oil to your salads is 120 calories, all fat; and you hardly notice it.

For some ideas, take a peak in the journal sections of the forum to see what others have been eating. You might like to start your own journal while you're at it

Cheers,
Nat

You can increase your calories by eating more fat: olive oil, butter, flax seed oil, skin on chicken, mayonnaise, etc. It adds calories with out chewing.

Headaches, nausea and fatigue are a normal part of induction. Are you drinking plenty of water? Are you taking any supplements?

Based on Fitday.com I ate 90 grams of fat and 111 grams of protein. I am drinking the water and I am taking the vitamins that the Atkins diet recommends. The protein was egg whites (switching to real eggs tomorrow), shrimp, peperoni, feta cheese, turkey and pork chop.

Thanks for you help.

Jocallag, use more fat, I typically have 130g of fat per day, it does make a difference. And keep drinking those 8 - 10 glasses of water a day.
