Plan: Atkins
Stats: 185/158/145 Female 5' 5 1/2"
BF:
Progress: 68%
Location: Florida
Default Help: Upping Calories

Bfast - 2 eggs, 2 slices bacon
Lunch - 3 oz pork, 2 cups salad (2 tbsp ranch dressing), 2 cups green beans
Snack - 4 thin slices salami, 2 tbsp cream cheese
Dinner - 1 cup tuna with mayo and egg

Approximate totals:

Carbs 6 % (19 with fiber subtracted)
Fat - 67%
Protein - 27%

Calories: 1264

30 minutes of aerobics

I can't seem to get the calories up. But this is third day of (re) induction, and I'm down three pounds.

Would I benefit by utilizing fat to get the calories up?
Or protein?
Or if I'm losing, just disregard the calories?

Thanks everyone.

Shirley

From what I have noticed on this diet, some people can eat any amount of calories(in reason) and not have to worry and the weight comes off. Other people on the other hand have to tweek their calories sometimes for a while to find the magic number. If you are losing I wouldn't worry about it as long as you're not going under what you're eating now, just to make sure you are eating enough healthwise.

If you're losing weight it sounds like you're on the right track! I wouldn't necessarily try to add back calories, unless you're hungry or seemed to be stalled and want to experiment.

Me, I'm always trying to cut back the calories. It seems very difficult for me to get them below 1500 and I don't lose much if at all.

The only thing I woudl suggest changing is maybe cuttin gdown on the processed meats. Salami and bacon are both high in salt and most contain sugars as well. Maybe switch to other meats or just have as a snack?

The calories may be ok for you. Just analyze how you feel. Do you have enough energy to do your workouts? Are you keeping your lean mass, as in are you losing inches as well as pounds? Do you feel satisfied with the amount you are eating?

If you would liek a little more calories and fat, maybe try putting some butter on your eggs. This adds moisture. For some added vitamins, throw some shredded cabbage into the bacon grease after you cook it, then crumble the bacon into it for fried cabbage. Maybe add a veggie to dinner as well, placing some butter or olive oil on it. If you like the tuna salad, maybe put celery, cucumber or pickle into it for a veggie.

I agree about the processed meats. Lots of salt, and could possibly have some hidden sugars in them. As far as upping cals, as long as you are losing, I wouldn't worry about them. I myself have to keep mine around 1000, or I don't lose at all. Youre doing great!
