Default Is it okay to start cutting out carbs?

Hi everyone

I have read about the different forms of Low Carb eating, I have chosen the Atkins Diet, and my books are on the way from Amazon.com, what I am wondering is if it is okay to start restricting my Carb intake now(I have been tracking my food ~ Fitday.com)?

Or should I just eat normally till I finish reading? (I am a carboholic - Pasta for two meals a day - everyday, and a constant graving for the taste of beer)

I have already started to increase my water intake, as I don't ususally drink any at all and am probably de-hidrated most of the time.

It wouldn't hurt! There is no downside to reducing your refined carb intake..the sooner the better. Until your bok arrives, have you visited Atkinscenter.com?

Thank you,

I was wondering if this would sort of let you body accomidate to less carbs, and thus defeat the purpose of the induction part of the new eating plan.

But if it is okay, then I am happy to do all the prep work possible, now I just have to get my hubby to be more supportive of this, he has already tried to sabotage my efforts on the first mention of any sort of eating changes.

He showed up at my work with a tray of cinamon buns yesterday. eeekkk, it was a good test and I did pass (yipppy).

I am so glad I have found all of you wonderful people.

I don't think lowering carbs would defeat the purpose of induction, it will make it easier with the withdrawls. The whole purpose of induction is to put you into ketosis and stop your cravings and reduce your hunger. Good luck!
