Question Anyone Else Struggle on Induction?

Hello everyone!

I have been trying very hard to follow the Atkins plan for the past 3 weeks. I have kept my carbs to around 20g per day but I must admit that a lot of the carbs have come from dairy and not salad/veg etc

The only reason for this is that I have had no cooking facilities for over a month while my house is renovated (bricks and dust galore!)

I am losing weight very slowly, I feel fabulous, and I am wondering if the only purpose induction serves is to give a quick initial weight loss?

Has anyone else struggled to stay on a rigid induction period ?

Thanks
Nicky

Hi Nicky!

Induction has several purposes. The first is to get your body into ketosis and start it using your fat stores for energy instead of carbs. Another purpose for induction is to get your insulin production and wild blood glucose swings under control and so get your carb cravings under control. And last, but not least, it's to jump-start your weight loss process. You may have picked a bad time so start low carb if you have no cooking facilities available. Dairy products (other than heavy cream, cheese and butter) are not allowed on induction because most other dairy products have lactose, a natural sugar, that could be keeping your insulin production up and your cravings going strong and cheese is limited to no more than 4 oz a day on induction. Once the dust settles, eat those veggies and let us know how you're doing!

Thanks Lisa

I did pick a bit of a bad time I know. However I was getting out of control with the take-away chinese food and pizzas so I chose to do this almost to stop doing the other! (It worked anyway LOL)

Add to that my Birthday on Saturday and induction is still a dream at this stage.

The second week in August will be the start of my 'proper' induction phase and between you and me - I am very much looking forward to it because that means I will have full cooking facilities back !

WOOOPEEEE
