Default Phew! It's not easy being a girl on Atkins sometimes :^)

Well I had a great first week on Atkins and lost 7 pounds , I am about halfway through week two and holding at the same weight. I was starting to really worry that I had stalled my weight loss. I even went so far as to take out a couple of foods that could cause a stall (nuts, soyslender soymilk)...Sure enough I woke up this morning with the early signs of that special time for us girls.....Thank goodness...Sorry I just had to share :^) I was really getting worried the plan wasnt working for me...

Well I am glad that its just TOM and not an actual slow down in your weight loss.

Congrats on the weight loss (and pending weight loss after TOM ), however you still might want to reread acceptable list of foods for induction...I don't think nuts or the soymilk products are allowed?

Good luck

I am pretty sure they are not allowed on induction, but I didnt have a lot of choice with the nuts/milk..I did go about 4 solid days without them. I am constantly on the road or camping or somewhere that I cant cook and needed snacks/foods that werent carbs...Ive tried to limit them, I figure better to have the sunflower seeds than starve or cheat...I was a severe milk junkie and I have to say this is the longest I have ever gone without any milk EVER..Im afraid the local dairy may go bankrupt as I am no longer supporting them..Once again I almost broke down with the milk but didnt...I ended up having some soyslender milk(2g of net carbs per serving, the lowest on the shelf)...Its gone now and I dont intend to replace it until either A. I have a BAD craving that wont quit and end up with no other choice to cheat or get the soyslender stuff or B. I reach that point where I know its safe in my diet without causing gain.
I guess this is why I like this program so much. I have the freedom to experiment with what works for my body and what doesnt. I also know I would rather break down and choose the lesser evil than cheat completely with horrible SUGAR and CARBS! It still amazes me how everything in the grocery store has sugar in it. Hopefully I get a nice whoosh...if not then I will probably reevaluate my plan...I dont intend to give up on this plan unless I go more than 6 weeks without a change...

I think it's ok to have Macadamias (only),,,, If you're doing the Fat Fast.....These nuts are lowest in carb. I believe 10- 12 nuts equal 5 carbs. So maybe do 5-6 which is 1/2

FYI - You do know that the first week or so you are losing mainly water, right? I see people get frustrated in here all the time when their weightloss slows to a normal half pound to a pound a week weightloss, after induction (which is really just a jumpstart). Your body might sloa WAY down week three and four as it adjusts to this WOL and the weightloss.

PS: a stall is six weeks or more with no scale movement or inches lost.
