Well, you should be proud of yourself that you chose the LC life to begin with... but I hear what you are saying, the first week (or 2) is the hardest (well it was for me anyhow...). Maybe you should try to go through your cabinets/refrig and get rid of the stuff that you will not be able to eat (with the thinking that when your craving start there will not be anything truly bad to eat). I had to do a serious clean out of my cabinets when I started .... I took back unopened stuff to the grocery store (or you could donate it to a food bank) and then restocked the house will all legal foods.

You could also plan your menu's ahead of time (and plan for snacks)... I found by planning ahead I was less likely to give in to my cravings - after a few days of eating my planned out meals (and snacks) I didn't even think about the evil carbs.

Also, I always have a glass of water near by, and drinking tons of water throughout the day seems to make me less hungry in between meals....

These are just some things that worked for me, hopefully you will find a way to get through the first couple of days.... Good luck !

I concur with everything that krazzybird has said. Induction is 3-5 days of h*ll as youphysically withdraw from your carb addiction. I would also try to minimize the use of sugar replacements as they can actually prolong the agony!

Do have meals/snacks planned and prepared. Never allow yourself to go hungry! Also, fat is your friend. Use it! Fat satisfies and satiates, takes away your hunger and helps alleviate withdrawal symptoms.

Also I don't know where you live but many members are now experiencing increased carb cravings due to SAD (seasonal affective disorder/lack of morning sunlight).

LC plans do help alleviate these symptoms.

anyway,im plannin to start this saturday..and ive been hearing about this stillman diet(all lean protein)...im thinkin of starting about two days of that(to kick start my weight loss and out the water retention) then get back to atkins induction....uh does this sound okay enuf????

ive seen ppl here combining a day or two of fatflush and or stillmans then the other days are pure induction----im thinkin of giving it a try too..but..ryt now im still thinkin

---planning ahead i think is sooo ryt,ive got to remind myself this time to quit takin stuffs that have artif preservatives or nitrates coz it made me retain water then..jsut a thought
