Unhappy Day 2

I have tried this thing so many times but this time is the hardest. I am following the induction to a tee this time (well as much as I can) . All the other times I tried to vary this or that. The only thing I'm having that I'm not supposed to is caffeine, but it's never affected me before.
I woke up with a raging headache this morning and have had the runs.
I keep telling myself that this is a GOOD thing, right???
How far into this before my sticks will turn pink?
I'm keeping track of my stuff at Fitday, but it seems like all I'm eating is FAT! I guess that's the purpose?
If anyone is interested in taking a look...

Any advice would be helpful!!

Ketosis was day 4 for me and feeling like a person again was day 6.

Hang in there... you can do this and you are going to feel so much better!

FYI- please give up the coffee mate w/ real sugar and have half and half or heavy cream. Save carbs and kick sugar OUT!

Hmmmm I never thought of the Coffee mate. It doesn't say anything for sugars but on my half and half it says 2 gms.

Maybe I'll just stick with heavy cream. Thanks!

from the book it says that it takes at least 48 hours for your body to use up your energy stores and then start burning the fat in your body for energy.

I would think the coffeemate should go as well. pack of spenda and some half and half should work fine.

Decaf coffee if possible, seems some people stall with caffeine

Coffee mate is made with corn syrup= sugar.

Serving Size 1 tsp (2 g) - Amount Per Serving - Calories 10 Calories from Fat 5

% Daily Value*
Total Fat 0.5 g 1%
Saturated Fat 0.5 g 3%
Total Carbohydrate 1 g 0%
INGREDIENTS: CORN SYRUP SOLIDS, VEGETABLE OIL (PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED COCONUT OR PALM KERNEL, AND CANOLA, HYDROGENATED PALM, SOYBEAN, COTTONSEED, AND/OR SAFFLOWER), SODIUM CASEINATE (A MILK DERIVATIVE)**, DIPOTASSIUM PHOSPHATE (MODERATES COFFEE ACIDITY), SODIUM ALUMINOSILICATE, MONO- AND DIGLYCERIDES (PREVENTS OIL SEPARATION), ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR, ANNATTO COLOR. ** Not a source of lactose.

Half and half (2 of the big ones) and heavy cream are 1 carb per 1 oz

And remember - 8 oz of coffee = 1 carb and each artificial sweetner packet = 1 carb.

Hope this is helpful.

I guess I need to ditch the half and half I have then because it's 3 grams of carbs and 2 grams of sugars. ACK!

I'll ditch the coffee mate too.

Thanks!! I'll give up the caffeine when and if the time comes.

Thanks again!! Every little bit helps!

I also am on Day 2 of Induction. Yesterday I had a raging headache which I think was from Coffee withdrawal but today I feel much better. As yet I haven't tested my urine for Ketones, but I feel so much better. I think it may be be physcological. I lost a lot of weight many years ago now so, having put it on again, in the last few years I thought that I would try it again.

Love all the support that your members get.

Thank you,

Ashen Pond/Jenye
