Default Subway Low-ish carb

Not sure if this has been mentioned before (I did a quick search and couldn't see it) but Subway now have low-carb options as long as you chose the components carefully. You can chose any sub and have it as a boxed salad so I now pop round the corner from the shop to have a hot steak and cheese salad. Not cheap for a takeaway but an option if you're stuck or your mates are going there anyway!

It makes a change from McDonalds grilled chicken Ceasar salad which I am getting heartily sick of now...

The freebie "Metro" newspaper recently had coupons for £1 off any salad at McDonalds. This inspired me to try both the grilled chicken Ranch and the grilled chicken Ceasar I thought the Caesar was almost unpleasant, the dressing was sharp and frankly yucky But the ranch was excellent, although I only used about a third of the dressing that was supplied...

Watch out for the chicken - it's very high in sugar but, if there's only a choice of either that or chips, I'll do the salad and risk the sugar!
