Lightbulb Atkins Bars and Shakes

Hey I am on Phase of Induction, and I was wondering eating Atkins bars and shakes.. which ahve more carbs.. but the net carbs are low.. would that slow down the weight loss? I don't want anything to stall my weight loss, cuz that's when I really give up.

I have been using the meal replacement bars - the Advantage, but have been hearing from here that they may help to hinder weight loss. Since I recently cheated and haven't weighed myself, I can't really say for sure how they affect myself. Plus, I just recently (last couple days) stopped trying to eat them.

I had originally thought the Atkins Advantage bars didn't affect my weight loss, but they did the second week. I cut them out the third week and lost double the weight I had lost the 2nd week. I only eat them now 1 or 2 times a week.

I ate them both through induction without any problems. I still drink the shakes pretty regularly but the bars I have cut back on. Mainly due to their high saturated fat content than anything else. Don't confuse the bars and the shakes though.

The bars do include sugar alcohols which should not affect you and do not have to be counted toward your net carbs. BUT, some people are affected by them and they may slow you down. Probably won't, but they may.

The shakes on the other hand do not use sugar alcohols and they should be perfectly fine during Induction. I seem to be the "Defender of the Shakes" on this board lately. The shakes are an excellent source of vitamins and minerals, as well as fiber. I would not recommend more than one a day though.

Good Luck on Induction!!
