Default Cool!

Went to eat last night at this place that is known for their daily specials... one day burger, next chicken, next gyros etc. Yesterday was burger day. And on the menu they had actually listed "Low carb burger (no bun) served with celery and carrots". Though the carrot thing puzzled me(full of sugar right?), I was thrilled to see it. So that's what I had! Today is chicken and they ofter it "low carb" too! I hope one of these days low carb will be mainstream and thought of as a healthy way to eat by the masses. I guess for now it will be our own little secret This is a start though don't you think! Have a good rest of your day everyone Ellen

It is fun when places start becoming hip to this "trend." Of course, it would be nice if it sticks!

And yeah, they don't know much if they offered carrots, huh?

I recently ordered a "Diet Beef Burger" which was a hamburger patty with cheese along with a salad and cottage cheese.

Talking SO maybe we need to help spread the word...

beyond this board - maybe a Letter to the Editor, mentioning how great it is to find this local resturant that is offering Atkins friendly menus - and a thank you note to the proprieter of the restaurant. Or maybe we could have a low carb "business card" award that we leave with our check - "THANKS, for making my dining experience most pleasant with LOW CARB selections!" We could have them feature the website's logo and print them out at home with your name or initials if you wished to add that...

Just a thought.

Yes, that is so great!!! I am guessing that the carrot ended up on your plate just because everyone automatically thinks of the carrot as the universal diet food I know I should shut up while you all think - gee for once KoKo is agreeing with us but I can't help but mention that while a cooked carrot is high on the GI a grated raw carrot is perfectly acceptable - I have no desire to ingest either - so please accept this as a purely scientific notation and not a vote for my(not) favorite vegetable
