Default Confused about RM

I'm confused when I read about the RM. I thought the sweet treat had to be included in the 1/3 carb reward. But I see many posts that post a starch (buscuit, pasta, rice, etc.) AND a decent portion of a sweet -- like a couple of small choc. candies and a small sliver of cake w/ ice cream or sweet topping. Doesn't that make the 1/3 carb reward way too much? If it's allowed like that, I'm REALLY excited! lol

Thanks for any info you can give me to hellp me understand.

If you look at what the Hellers eat, they often include a desset with their RM. I usually increase my LC veggies and protein if I want carbs at the meal and dessert.

Today I made a version of Suzanne Somers' Cheeseburger pie; I added a mixture of cooked brown rice, barley, black rice and wild rice to my layers. It was very good that way!

I tend to have more than one carb as my 1/3 at RM. I just have larger portions of the protein and lc veggies and then for the carbs, I have a couple of bites of this and a couple of bites of that so I can "sample" several things. So, sometimes it seems like I've had an awful lot of carb items, but it's just that I'm not having very big portions of them. Since I love carbs, I want to be able to have a little of several things or I don't feel satisfied.
