Post husband hid the scales

I was weighing myself twice a day and going crazy wondering why I hadn't lost pounds during the day. CRAZY, right?

So............................I asked my dear hubby to hide them, now I can't find them anywhere and you would think that I am looking for the golden goose! Needless to say, my husband, soon to be EX, will not tell me where they are.

I know that he is doing this for 'my own good' but it's killing me. He says that he can tell I'm losing just by how my clothes look and that my face is thinner.

I'm just kidding about the EX part, no one else would put up with me and I think he's right about the obsessive weighing getting me down.

I have to go back to the oncologist in early March and I'm thinking that it will be a nice surprise to see how much I've lost since January.

Anyway, I have vented for the day and feel much better. Everyone have a great one.

Talking Mine Too

I asked my husband to do the same and he actually listened.

I wenting to go weigh myself this morning and to my utter amazement it wasn't there!!!

I told him I am not allowed to see it until April 1.

WTG Hubby! You'll be thanking him in a few weeks, slim. Once you get past letting a mechanical appliance run roughshot over your moods and frame of mind you'll see that this was for the best. Scales do not give you a true picture of your losses. You'd do better with a measuring tape and a pair of pants ( the 'pant-o-meter' as we call it).

3 cheers to both sets of hubby's!

That is wonderful they are doing whatever it takes to support you gals Mine is the same way. He bought some girl scout cookies last week...the thin mint types...I know, I know....I would kill for those.

I told him to hide them to where I won't find them. He did and I can not for the life of me find them! I LOOKED too! *laughs*

Now the two of you can relax and not be so stuck on those silly numbers on the scale Just enjoy life!

Hey everyone,

I have laughed about all this, especially the story about the THIN MINTS.................. YUMM............

My husband hides his candy, too. The funny thing is that I don't normally eat sweets, he's the one with the problem, huh?

Seriously though, he is 6'8" and never gains a pound, add to that he is healthy as the proverbial horse. I'm always telling him that if I had his body just for a month I would eat and eat and eat and eat, etc.................

Thanks for all the support and feedback. Natrushka, you are a great inspiration to me. You seem to know so much. I try to real all your posts because they are so informative.

I want to be 'just like you when I grow down'!

Everyone have a good one.

Default Its Great to Have Support

He keeps telling me I am my own worst enemy.

(Which, of course, is true.)

He is a big supporter of the pants o'meter! Even though I have not lost a pound in 7 weeks my size 16's are now rapidly approaching the "baggy look". (Of course he never gains a pound either, so he can't really understand the psychological effects, but he does try.)

I guess I just have a whole lotta fat built up in those muscles!

good for all you scale-hiders. Paying attention to how we feel and how loose the clothes are is, in the long run, a better idea for most veteran dieters.
