What'd you think of the cereal?

I found it tasted just a little better than expected - which still isn't that great. However, it has lots of goodness and fibre - and it was a welcome change from eggs.

I had a small serve (1/3 cup) and added a cup of boiling water. It swelled pretty quickly. I added a teaspoon of splenda and just a dash of heavy cream. It was something hot in my belly and filled me up pretty well.

Like I said, it smelled a lot better than it tasted, but I think I could get used to it. However, I'm sure you could probably make your own for a little cheaper than the (just under) $30 for the bag (albeit a large one).

Cheers,
Wabi.

p.s. An aside... they do have that Darrell Lea Zero Carb chocolate some people haven't managed to locate. However, it's also a little pricey at $15 for five 50g bars.

Default Muffins!

Make sure your order the LC Muffin Mix, it is delicious! I just had a coconut muffin for breakfast, straight from the oven, yummy! I actually heard that you might be able to make muffins using the Cereal Mix, have a go!

Post Muffin mix and cereal...one and the same!!!

I have ordered the LC Cereal and the muffin mix, and they are exactly the same mixture!! Same ingredients same look, same smell!!

Seriously ripped off!! Paid $65 for the two, because I ordered them separately.

So for a money saving tip, order one or the other, you can have your cereal and muffins.....although... Im not that fussed on how the muffins turned out.....very dense and rubbery.... or is that the way all LC substitutes taste? I'm beginning to think so....

I agree with you that it is very pricey, and there must be a cheaper alternative, considering the taste.

cheers Cheley.

Default Don't give up on the muffins!

Hmmm, funny how people's taste are different! I can't live without the muffins! I must admit that I have never made the plain muffin. That's my favourite recipes:

Chocolate: Instead of adding the 150ml of liquid, add 150-200ml of Cottees Diet Chocolate Topping and 3tbsp of unsweetened cocoa. Check consistency and add a little water if necessary.

Coconut: use 150ml of cream, coconut essence instead of vanilla and 1/2 cup of shreded coconut.

Chocolate and Coconut: Instead of adding the 150ml of liquid, add 150-200ml of Cottees Diet Chocolate Topping and 1tbsp of unsweetened cocoa, add 1/2 cup of shreded coconut

Chocolate and Walnuts: same as above, but instead of coconut, use 1/2 cup of chopped hazelnuts.

SportyOz,
Is it the Cottees low joule chocolate that you use? I just looked it up in the diet club carb count and for a bottle (how big is the bottle?) it is a whooping 107.2 carbs!!

Have I looked at the wrong one? That was the only diet one on there.

Cheers Cheley.

I think there is some mistake, the one that I use is called Cottee's Diet Chocolate Flavoured Topping and it says that has 11.5g carbs for 100ml; they also have a Caramel one but I haven't tried it yet.
Good luck with your muffins!! : )

Ok, I will have to check the fine print next time I go shopping. Maybe there is two types, low joule and diet.

Cheers Cheley

Muffin recipe please!

I got your variations, but because I bought the "cereal mix", I don't have the "muffin" recipe.

Will someone please give me the basic muffin recipe. I can't wait to try some of those variations!

Cheers,
Wabi
