Welcome to the forum Bauer55!

It does work, but not always quickly. My best piece of advice is experience the overall health that lowcarbing will bring you and not to focus solely on weight loss as your only target.

This is one of the best things you can ever do for yourself! Take time to read all over the forum. It's packed with information and inspiration.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on finding low carbing. It does work and it is a wonderful way to eat.

I have seen a lot of people get discouraged because they decide they have to lose FAST and if they are not losing fast enough they give up. I doubt that most of them found anything else to make them lose faster and in the long run I am sure they are worse off than those who of us who keep plodding along. Your health problems should start to diminish quickly -- you don't have to get all the way to your goal for them to go away -- so please be patient and accept whatever your body can do.

I've been averaging a loss of about six to eight pounds a month after doing this for nine months. Sure, I'd love to lose faster, but I know I don't have to get all the way to my goal to start realizing the benefits of low carbing. When I started, I was losing my mobility because of my weight. Now I can hike for miles and easily climb hills. I still have a long way to go -- I'm afraid to try running at my current weight because I don't want to injure myself -- but I know that if I am patient I will be able to run again some day.
