I went for a complete physical today as suggested. My doctor is a respected internist whom my wife and I have been going to for years.

Several weeks ago I had a respiratory infection and went to him for an antibiotic. I did not tell him I was on the Adkins diet then because I was afraid he would discourage me. When I went back today the nurse/office assistant weighed me, wrote the number down on the chart and had me wait in an examination room for the doctor.

When he entered the room he looked at me and did a double take, looked at the chart and said "you've lost 16 lbs. since your last visit 3 weeks ago" (actually 17lbs.). I told him about my new WOL and waited for his response which I was certain would be negative. His response was "I think its great... ". I can't begin tell you how encouraging he was and how elated I am this evening.

He said I was in excellent physical condition except for being overweight. He said my "One a Day" brand multi vitamin and calcium/magnesium/ Vitamin D supplement were fine but that I didn't need a potassium supplement. The last thing said to me was that HE needed to exercise more!!!!

I like whats happening in my life. Thanks to all. dankar

Oh Dan,

I know how you feel. When I went to see my doctor I figured she would give me the work over. Not at all, infact she had no idea of the Atkins WOL

My next visit she was so pleased and I also lent her my copy of the book. I look forward to when she finishes the book and lets me know what she thinks.

WTG on the weight loss Dan, your doing just great and your wife too!
