Default Five Spice Shrimp

Five Spice Shrimp - Joseph Gomes, chef at Bombay Talkie in NYC

Five Spice Shrimp

2 Teaspoons Olive Oil
1 Large Onion
1 Inch Piece Ginger
2 Cloves Garlic
1/8 Teaspoon Chili Powder
1 Teaspoon Turmeric
1 Teaspoon Cumin
1 Teaspoon Coriander
2 Medium Tomatos - Pureed
1 Pound Large Shrimp Peeled & Deveined
2 1/2 Cups Cooked Rice

Heat oil in a large saute pan over medium high heat. Saute' onion until golden brown - about 3 minutes. Grind ginger and garlic into a paste; add it and remaining spices and tomatoes to pan; simmer 5 minutes. In a separate pan, saute' shrimp 30 seconds. Add sauce and stir continuously on high heat, 2 or 3 minutes, until most of the liquid evaporates. Serve over rice.

300 calories per serving
4.9 g fat
35.4 g carbs
2.1 g fiber
26 g protein

I just entered all of the ingredients into Fitday.com & it came out to be: (I could be wrong, I was wrong once before )

483 calories per serving
8.5 g fat
32 g carbs
65 g protein

WITHOUT the rice it comes out to:

382 calories
8.5 g fat
1.75 g carbs
25.5 g protein

PLEASE!! If I have made a mistake on my calculations, correct me!!
