Arrow so happy!

tonight, i convinced both my mother and my grandmother to give the LC WOL a shot...
My mother is very overweight (around 300 pounds i think), its begun to effect her health (back aches, sinus problems, heart problems, breathing problems)... she also has thyroid problems.
Im just so happy that she has decided to do this... she read the Atkins book and I answered some of her questions about it tonight. SHE STARTS ON MONDAY!!!!! Im so happy my mom is finally going to fight back against her weight problem. She knows its not a DIET, its a life change and plans to be completely faitful (with an occasional cheat maybe LOL)... her main concern is feeling healthier, not so much the weight but Im still so proud of her. Im pretty excited for her!

Sorry... i was just happy about this Itll also be nice to know someone else that eats LC like me too.

Congratulations on getting family to join you! It is exciting to know that something works this good and convince your family of it and have them join you.

I got my mother the Atkins book for Christmas last year, but I don't think she read it. She's on the oatmeal-eating-lower-your- cholesterol plan from a doctor. I don't know about her cholesterol, but it hasn't helped her weight problem at all.

Hooray for mom and you for getting your mom to change her woe and wol. It will probably be easier for both mom and you because you can both be there for each other and help each other along the way. You get to be the role model now. Cheers to ya.

Smile Wish my mom would do the same!

Congrats Moonmist! I wish my mom would do the same. I don't know her weight, but she is a (snug) 2XL. She has alot of health problems, especially with her knees. I know it is because of the weight.
She was mentioning that stomach stapling the other night. I told her that I felt it should be a last resort, as it will not help if she is not willing to change her WOE. And exercise? Not happenin'...
Sigh. I want her to be around for a long time, but I am afraid with her health problems, it may not happen. She is also a heavy smoker and that's a bad combo.
