what does minus the fiber mean? prob stupid question, but I am confused.

When looking at a nutrients table, it will give you the break down of carbohydrates, fiber, fat, protein etc.

If the ingredient has fiber listed, you can subtract that from the carbohydrates, because the human gut does not process fiber. It passes it right through without breaking it down.

That make sense?

Protein Power does the "minus the fiber" thing.

I don't believe that Atkins does.

Default Atkins and Fibre

Hi Marlaine,

The latest Atkins book does include this and talk about counting digestible grams. The carb counter in it includes the fibre grams.
