Hello Everyone,
I'm one of the former low carb loosers who weakened and plunged into a carb-fest. The end result... I gained back all plus 15 pounds. I'm disgusted with myself! I tried going back on the low carb diet a couple of months ago but was not able to lose any weight. Maybe I did something wrong... I don't know. Anyway, I'm back again. Does anyone know anything about the "One Golden Shot"? I hope I have not ruined my chance to lose weight the low carb way.

Thanks.

I think the "Golden Shot" theory is a bit overblown. Some people have more trouble the second (or third) time around, some don't. Just like anything else, it's different for everyone. But it's definitely worth doing if it worked for you the first time, because you know you will feel better and the excess weight will come off, even if it isn't as quick as it was the first time around. I, like many many others here, am on my second (or third) go 'round, so I know it can be done. Just be sure to follow the plan, and stay away from the "low-carb" bars, sugar-free candies, and that sort of stuff at the beginning. You can do it!

I have done Atkins 3 times and am currently on M&E migrating to a hybred of the two in a couple of weeks. I found it a little more difficult the second time I did Atkins but that was due to not refreshing myself with the book. The third time I re-read the information on induction and allowable foods before restarting and found success. I hit a slow down in the weight loss so decided to cut out veggies and dairy for awhile hence the M&E plan. I suggest re-reading the Atkins book and mentaly preparing yourself for this journe. We will all be there for you for cyber support.

Best of luck to you.

Hello Everyone. Thank you all for the encouragement! I really thought I had blown it. It is a relief to know that I have another chance. And yep... I didn't refresh myself by reviewing the Atins book. Thinking back to the first time, I remember abusing the so called "low carb" goodies ... and eating lots and lots of cheese and eggs!! My bad. And being honest with myself that is what put me in the slump the first time. That and having to deal with my "little bathroom of horrors". The cheese I suspect . Looks like you all are doing great! You're my inspirations. Thanks again . Donna
