Default Disturbing trend....

For the last week I have been unable to go to Curves or work out at home due to sickness (mine or the children), laziness, other engagements and such. Anyway, in that time I have lost 3 1/2 pounds!! It almost makes me think that I was going slower because I was exercising. I know I have to exercise but it is making me even lazier. Help!!

As you build muscle it will retain water. There is also the lean weight of building muscle itself. There are things to look at besides the scale though.

1. More lean mass means a smaller build. Everyone sees the smaller jeans, but no one sees the number on the scale but you.

2. More lean mass means better circulation. This translates into higher metabolism, less cellulite and better health

3. Strength training helps build bone density which can work to preventing osteoperosis later in life

4. Regular strength training means more burning of glucose. This means in maintananc eyou can have a higher carb limit and be able to handle occasional treats.

5. Regular exercise helps to keep joints loose and flexable which can help to prevent injuries from regular activities.

6. Strengthening the abdominal muscles means support for lower back which helps to prevent back injury and basic soreness

7. Exercising regularly releases seritonin to help battle depression and releases other feel good hormoens.

8. Exercise can also help improve the quality of sleep. There is an article on this months readers digest about how lack of sleep can increase the chances of desises and even breast cancer.
