Default What to do???

My office is ordering out for Chinese food this afternoon for lunch. What would you suggest I get as my entree? I've seen posts about ordering the sauces on the side, and having egg foo young. But, I was under the impression that egg foo young is floured before it is cooked. Any one know?

Also, I'm not one for broccoli, so what other dishes do you all suggest?

Thanks!

I eat egg drop soup all the time...other than that I usually get the broccoli chicken with no sauce...but since you are not hot on broccoli...maybe snow peas?

Hiya Bleach,

I'm guessing you'll have already had your lunch by the time you read this, but for next time, you might want to have a look at what Dr Atkins says about restaurants.

Here is the link to eating out at Chinese restaurants.

Cheers.

Well I know you had lunch by now but for future reference egg foo young is not floured before cooking - it's done similar to an omelette and there would be no purpose to flouring it. Also pretty hard to flour liquid eggs with veggies mixed in

It's been a long time since I've eaten it, but if I recall correctly egg foo young usually comes with a gravy, doesn't it? If so, it probably has corn starch to thicken it, so depending on how low-carb you want to go, you might consider ordering the gravy on the side.

Thanks for all the comments. They actually changed from Chinese to sandwiches at the last minute, so I safely ordered a salad.

Koko: You're right! How could they flour a liquid???

Rosebud: Thanks for the link. I actually have the book, and I did go to the site, but I didn't see anything that appealed to me. So I wondered if there were any other suggestions out there.
