Question HELP>> Supplements, help or hinder???

Greetings all,
Ive been doing Atkins for about 6 weeks with only 7 pound loss to show for it (the first 3 pounds were lost the first week the rest I have been grinding out for 5 weeks). I am, to say the least a little dissapointed, as many of those whom I have helped get started on Atkins have far surpassed me in loss and they have been doing it for less time.
I have not yet started the supplement thing, I was reading about his brand of supplements plus taking cromimum for those who are slow losers. I guess I am in the slow loser catagory.

In your experiences, has not taking supplements slowed weight loss down, or should I say has starting to take them sped up your program???????

I live in Canada, and so far my search for his brand of vitamin has been fruitless. I am very resistant to taking a dozen or so pills a day, just to get the combination he suggests ( was raised with a mother who piled up 7 to 11 pills beside or breakfast plates every day, some pills so big and horrid you spent the rest of the morning burping up this awfull taste).

CAN ANYONE RECCOMEND TO ME A MULTI VITAMIN I CAN TAKE THATS AVAILABLE IN CANADA? As well as what other supplements may help in the release of this fat???

I fell out of ketosis unexplainably a week ago, in an effort to get back in I have been eating less than 10 carbs a day for several days and I am still have a negative ketostick (urine test).
Im now at a place that I am willing to look at the vitamin thing!
Please if you have ANY advice for me, I would be thrilled to get it,
Thanks in advance

I have been taking seasilver, which claims to have every vitamin and mineral in it, and it comes in liquid form, w/ 2 carbs per daily dose, (not too bad). Tastes like cranberry. You can order it over the internet. I do not know if it slows or speeds up the Atkins plan, as I have not been loosing on Atkins at all. Maybe somone else out there knows about this?

I would say just start with a regular multivitamin and see how that goes.

I'm taking One a Day Weight Smart with green tea extract in it and chromium, fish oil capsule twice a day, Calcium/magnesium/zinc twice a day, Vitamin C and Vitamin E (only 100 IU, I've heard some people take 1000) twice a day.

You say you've cut down to 10 carbs? Where are they coming from? Also, eating too few calories can make loss very slow or non existant, as well as too many calories.

You need to get 20 carbs mostly from green veggies.

It could be that the sticks are bad, steam from the shower can corrupt them.

I never bothered with the sticks myself.

I've taken at least a Flintstones (kids) vitamin for a long time, but when I forget vitamins I don't notice a slow down, only excess carbs cause that for me.

I've found chromium to be very helpful with cravings. I've also noticed I have a lot more energy since starting the green tea extract.

Are you drinking enough water? Some people recommend half your weight in ounces of water, or 64 oz, plus an additional 8 oz. for every 25 pounds you want to lose. Drinking water is a great help to speed weight loss, I've found.
