Question Is this a normal hunger/eating thing?

Most of the time, when I decide to eat because I am hungry—like tummy-rumbling no-doubt-about-it hungry—I will fix myself something, and as soon as I take the first bite, most of my hunger is gone. I think the hunger going away MUST be a psychological response, but it's weird because I KNOW I was physically hungry before I started eating.

Anyone else experience the same thing?

It's different for me - I almost never get hungry at all!

I eat because I'm supposed to, and also because I enjoy the food, but I can't remember the last time I felt what I would define as hunger ...

I eat because I need too. But I make sure I watch my portions because I can blow that right out the window!

I have found that dieting or not, the more hungry I am the less food it takes to sate my appetite. This is the rule, not the exception. I wonder if it has to do with hunger adding more acid to your stomach, which then (because it is partially full) has less room for food and is full faster.

Yes, I know all about the 20 minutes it takes for your brain to register satiety. I am talking about actually physically feeling full.
